Oh Stef, your journal entry on Conveniences made me cry (happy tears). My grandmother had a whisk just like the one you describe. I don't remember we ever had lemon meringue pie (not many lemons in northern Minnesota), but I can see it in her hands at the table as I came down the stairs from the attic bedrooms and sidled around the big wood burning stove so I wouldn't get burned. Thanks for the memories!

Stepanie your work is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. I'm Christine's mom Mary. I also paint. My media is w/c and collage. I've worked in all medias at one time but these are my favorite.

And after the tranquilizers wore off, how is Paintbrush doing? You both sound well and content! Hope Paintbrush is too.

Buenos Dias Stef and Dave. Amazing, impressive, fascinating, and a whole bunch of other adjectives I can't think of - that's what your Website is. (Perhaps you could add some Spanish adjectives - I would think they'd be more expressive!) Your weblog may be easy to access, but it wasn't until I read Ms. Yosh's comments in the guest log, that I figured out where the story line was - so much for my computer literacy. Now that I'm "in" the weblog, I am fascinated. I can hear the sounds that Dave describes from the roosters to the sparrows to the metal workers. I can imagine Stef's smile that overcomes your self-proclaimed lack of conversational Spanish. I can see the daily life in the beautiful pictures that accompany the weblog. Thank you for sharing your adventure with all of us. It is wider and deeper and more satisfying than a postcard, but I still love the postcard that I received last week. By the way, where do I send YOU postcards? (I can't find the Florida address) and I feel like I'm ignoring you if I don't send stupid p'cards.) Hast luego and love from Deb

buenas noches my dear adventurous friends! Your website is AMAZING (even the lowest low-techie like me can recognize quality when I see it). Love the photos and your weblog. I will live vicariously through you guys, especially around November when the gray curtain of an Oregon winter starts to drop on us up here in Hood River. Love, Cindy

Hi Stefanie, First chance to wander your webpage. I am totally in awe and I havn't even gotten to Dave's part yet. I know that probably was only a hint of your work but what smacked me in the face was each picture is so totally different from the others. and there is such a warmth of emotion in wall of them. No doubt I will be often visiing your page. Fantastic good luck to you both.
