So here we are, 2012 already! The artists of Cowango can't wait to see what adventures await us this year in the wonderful world of art making. But before we move on.. a brief recap of whats happened since Spring of 2011
This summer we returned to Mexico to visit our casita by the lake. Our renters are taking good care while we're gone and we launched into a building project with our maestro Mario: a new bodega! This lovely brick storage shed will eventually anchor our outdoor living space next to the house. We are in the process of developing a plan to make this our workshop space when we start promoting our workshop retreats in San Miguel.
This fall (back in Paducah), we had a wonderful visit from the buyers club at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The group toured various galleries and studios in the Lower Town area. At Cowango Studios, David gave a batik demo while Stefanie sold art! The group was generous with their enthusiasm.
A local PBS affiliate came to Cowango to interview us for a state-wide program called "Bluegrass and Backroads". The camera and lights were a little intimidating but the entire process was rewarding. The final product will appear in February on PBS stations across Kentucky. A streaming video version will also be available online here.
Hope your holidays were great. Have a very happy new year!
We've just completed the fantastic Lower Town Arts and Music Festival, 2011 edition.
Things are progressing nicely here at Cowango Studios this fall with Stefanie back at the art fairs and David completing a commission piece.
