Gallery Show: "Port of Entry"
Cowango Studios is proud to announce our first gallery show in Paducah. The Egg and I Gallery will be hosting an opening reception for the show on April 12th, 2008 from 6:30 to 9 pm. Stefanie Graves will be showing her watercolors and David Lucht will exhibit his batiks. The show, entitled "Port of Entry" will examine the themes of cross-cultural influence that animate the art of Cowango Studios. Both artists will have new work to exhibit, plus the very best pieces from the past few years.
Winter Exhibit at J Cafe
Stefanie is exhibiting her watercolors at the new location for J Cafe and Bistro in Paducah, Kentucky from January through March. The restaurant is in the old Ritz Hotel building on Kentucky Avenue. Stop by for lunch at this lovely restaurant, the food is great and the owners support Lowertown artists by displaying their work thoughout the restaurant.
We are finally settled in Paducah, Kentucky after one crazy year building homes here and near San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Our Kentucky home is now getting the "final touch" treatment. Dave is occupied with carpentry, building shelving in our art storage closet and studio furniture in the back studio. He's thrilled to actually be creating a dedicated studio space for the very first time. Stefanie has painted the chair rails in her front studio and is now in the process of designing and sewing shades for the entire house. The front garden got flowers and barberry bushes put in this spring and next fall we will start on making something beatiful out of the back yard
Our brief experience with the people of Paducah and the artist's community here in particular has been one of warm welcome and friendly smiles at every turn. One of our artist friends call it being "Paducahed". Seems like that says it pretty well.
Stefanie and David will be exploring new avenues for their artistic output this year. After 3 years dedicated to producing many fine pieces of art and arranging a full schedule of shows, they are eager to spend time settling into their home in Paducah before beginning to take their ideas in new directions. Please come back to this space regularly to see where they will be showing their work.
