Accidental Truths
Exploring the unexpected through watercolor
  • Sparrows Complete
The weather is playing tricks with us here in Paducah, warming to the 50’s one day and then dipping into the 30’s the next. We had a warm spell over the weekend and so I let the feeder stand empty, knowing that the birds would have enough seeds in the dry grasses and barren flower [...]

Artist's Statement

I enjoy the freshness of watercolor and the spontaneity it affords while painting with it. Its fluidity aids the creativity of the works, which I find especially pleasing.

I am a self-taught artist, having come to it by way of careers in nursing and health care management. Along the way I've nurtured the part of me that is inspired by the visual and have jealously guarded my time to create. The results of this persistence and tenacity are the watercolors here on my web pages. Inspired in equal parts by the ordinary and exotic, the paintings represent my continued sense of curiosity, wonderment, and awe at the world around me.
